The consistency rule caps how much of your total profit can come from one trading day. Cross it and the payout is voided — even on a passing account. Enter your challenge parameters and your best day to see exactly how much headroom you have left.

Consistency rule — questions
What is the consistency rule in prop trading?
It caps how much of your total profit is allowed to come from a single trading day. If your best day is worth more than the firm’s percentage of your profit target, the challenge or payout is voided — even if your account is otherwise passing. It exists to filter out one-lucky-trade accounts and reward traders who profit steadily.
How do I calculate my consistency score?
Divide your best day’s profit by your total profit target, then compare that to the firm’s limit. Best day ÷ profit target gives your day’s share; if that share is at or above the firm’s cap (say 30%), you’ve breached. The gauge above does this live: 100% usage means your best day exactly equals the maximum the rule allows.
Which prop firms have the strictest consistency rules?
In our current cohort the strictest is Moneta Funded’s Instant plan at 15%, followed by Invest Prop’s Economic plan at 20% and Funding Pips at 35%. Alpha Capital, FundedNext, Propia and ZoraFX mostly sit at 40%. FTMO, The5ers, SGB and Volt Funded enforce no single-day cap at all.
Can I still pass if my best day is exactly at the limit?
Usually yes — most firms treat the cap as a strict ceiling, so exactly at the limit (100% usage) is the maximum allowed rather than a breach. But there is zero headroom: one more profitable trade on that day tips you over. Treat 95–100% as a danger zone and bank smaller days from there.
What happens if I breach the consistency rule?
On a payout it typically voids that payout request; during a challenge it can fail the phase outright. The fix is the same either way — keep trading until more days accumulate, which raises your profit target denominator and shrinks your best day’s share back under the cap.
